Industrial experience
Senior Designer, Infomedia India Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai (June 2003–June 2005)
Udaya Kumar had worked for two years in a well renowned publishing house in India –Infomedia India Pvt. Ltd. The company publishes several magazines, he was under the banner Intelligent Computing CHIP, a monthly computer magazine. He was part of the core design team that conceptualized the magazine from scratch. He was promoted to head the design team in his second year.

Summer Intern, Tata Infomedia Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai (April 2002–July 2002)
During post graduation, he did his summer internship at Tata Infomedia Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai (currently known as Infomedia India Pvt. Ltd.) for four months. He designed brochures, hoardings, advertisements, banners and posters. This gave him a good exposure on print medium and publication industry – its design process, design coordination, workflow and printing techniques.

Trainee Architect, Sakthivel Associates, Chennai (July 1999–October 1999)
During graduation, he worked as a trainee Architect for three months at Sakthivel Associates, Chennai. He worked on housing projects, elevations, detailing of staircases and Restrooms.
