Brief Summary:
VCTEL was initiated in 1999 as a collaboration among the IITs and IIMs in collaboration with the Carnegie Mellon University.

The goals of VCTEL are:

1) To promote internationalization of Engineering and Management Education

2) To provide TEL opportunities and international experience to students/professionals in India

3) To identify joint opportunities for carrying out research on the role of technology in learning and research that uses technology for collaboration

4) To use technology as means to augment/address the important problem of shortage of quality faculty

5) To acquire expertise in using technology to extend current teaching and research capabilities

6) To enhance the productivity of available academic resources
