Guidance from an artist allowed me to come up with concepts and thumbnails for developing the composition to tell the story with focus on emotions. The composition was set in an ‘ancient era’ and the visual feel was accordingly developed. The idea behind the storyline was of a person who was new to this kind of an ancient–looking world and was seeing it for the first time. My goal while making the matte painting was to create a feeling of vastness and elements such as old castles, temples and ivy on walls or gateways.
