Chasni (The Sugar Syrup)

Chasni is a story narrated by one of the
survivors of Acid-attacks in a poetic form,
she shares her post-attack experiences of
facing day to day life with disfigurement.
Disfiguration (VIRUPAN) caused by the
post-attack scars has an extremely traumatic
effect on the survivors and affects
them both physically and psychologically.
The film is a 2D hand drawn digital animation
film, following a narrative in the
form of poetry. The film features a woman
who is a survivor of an acid attack. She
wants to have tea, but finds out that the
tea box is empty. She thinks about going
out and buying a tea box, but remembers
that stepping out and being noticed is not
an easy task given her scars.
