Redesign of Electric Fruit dryer

India being a predominantly agriculture based country, the agricultural food processing industry is a promising business opportunity for small scale entrepreneurs. The processed food includes fruits and vegetables which are exported to western countries. The main focus area of the project was to improve the drying efficiency, reducing drying time, simplifying loading and unloading of the trays, and also improving the heat utilization within the chamber. Final deliverables included a CAD model and scaled mock-ups, while their efficiency was tested through Principle Testing Models in an oven. |
