‘Airavata'

Since childhood I have been fascinated with Elephants and have heard tales of these mighty yet gentle creatures from my elders. Vedic literature mentions Indra’s steed ‘Airavata’, the majestic white elephant with seven trunks. Airavata is considered the Elephant of the Clouds and is worshipped in Maharashtra in a festival called ‘Hagda’. My initial inspiration and corresponding research lead me to create a story for my short film project based on this legendary being. |
