'MEGHAYANA' - The Pilgrimage
of a Cloud

'Meghayana' is a short animation film where the movement of a small group of clouds is expressed as a pilgrimage to a large cloud. The visual nature and characteristics of clouds have struck the imagination of many artists and poets since ages. They have attributed the qualities of clouds to hope, freedom, destruction, relationships and divinity. A brief study of the nature of clouds, observations and with reference to poetry, I arrived at a personal expression of the story in the form of a poem. The film is an interpretation of this poem through the medium of animation. In my view, life is a composite of the good and the bad, happiness and sadness, success and failure, power and weakness, which resemble the nature of clouds. Through this animated short film, I reflect on the similarities between the nature of human life and the nature of clouds. |
