IDC has been a pioneer in providing an excellent environment for academics, research and applications in the field of design. It coexists in an active triadic relationship with design education, design research and design practice. The concern at IDC is for the problems at the grass root level in developing economies and has led efforts in solving such problems with design as a means and a tool. The designer in a global economy requires competence to deal with a broad range of challenges thrown up by socio-economic and cultural diversities. This diversity is reflected in the structure of the educational program, the type of research activities and the projects the students and faculty undertake.

The batch of 2009-2011 (graduating in June, 2011) is an eclectic mix of 58 designers from
the four disciplines of:
- Industrial Design
- Visual Communication
- Interaction Design
- Animation

The placement team would aim to deliver an ideal platform for the industry to initiate a formal dialogue with the students from various disciplines in order to discuss their employment opportunities and projects. The placements happen in parallel with the Design Degree Show where the recruiters can have slots to interact with the students over the project prototypes, films and portfolios.
