Gnajifa Card Game

The project is an exploration into giving the historic game of Ganjifa cards a contemporary treatment using a multimedia approach. The game is based on the Dashavatar of Lord Vishnu . The project will explore how these avatars came to be and what is possible in the future evolution of the game and the avatar of lord Visnu that is yet to come.

Pop-up Story Book for Children.

Narrative is central to human experience and a key way that experience is made meaningful.

Education and entertainment have both played a significant part in the evolution of children's narrative. This book provides a way for shaping a child's experience reflecting how the action of the medium correlates to the action taking place in the story. It helps them to construct the meaning themselves. The objective of the project is to give a child a dynamic experience in storytelling with exploration of Pop-ups and its reference to context of the story. The project also aimed to explore book design in terms of form, shape, layout and composition of elements.

The Art of Lacquerwares in Sawantwadi:

Skilled fingers. Simple tools. Natural materials like wood and clay. A living tradition handed down from father to son, mother to daughter. A sure sense of colour and design. And the magic touch of creativity. This is the age-old heritage that has kept alive Sawantwadi's traditional woodcrafts through unbroken centuries. The range and excellence of Sawantwadi woodencrafts is almost legendary. From as far back as around the end of 17 th and the beginning of the 18 th century, the products of Sawantwadi's craftsmen found their way to distant lands. But under the onslaught of mechanization, a centuries-old heritage is facing the threat of extinction. The project looks at the heritage that preserves the beauty and warmth, the originality and character of objects crafted by the magic of human hands of Sawantwadi and the role of the craftsmen in the conservation of the traditional handicrafts of Sawantwadi.

Elephant is a multidisciplinary design office that has created, redefined and repositioned several brand across a wide range of industry segments. During my summer training I was involved as a part of the team on various phases of design process in number of live projects like Packaging for leading soap brands for HLL, Design research for ‘Sakal' Marathi news paper, Packaging for a corporate gift for Bajaj Auto and Design analysis for Overdrive Magazine.
