The programme envisages developing graduates with better maturity in handling communication design problems, a deeper understanding of aesthetic aspects, and generating methods and methodologies for solving communication problems. The emphasis is to be a creative problem solver, who can effectively use various design methods and systematically find appropriate solutions. During the first year the students are given opportunities to learn new skills in different media's and to advance their level of understanding. During the students are encouraged to take up projects that solve social and educational needs.

Students undertake three major projects during the second year, the projects start with a one month summer training in the industry. The next project is Project II which is a design project basically aimed at learning new skills and gaining new sensibilities towards designing better solutions, This project is followed by ‘Special Project ‘ which is a research project. The final project is ‘Project III' which is aimed at applying design skills learned.
